Branch Patty

The Branch Family

Established in 2013, Branch Patty is a family owned business focused on the art of making Jamaican-style patties. As a Caribbean child, Samuel Branch grew up with a love of patties. He perfected his recipes and technique through his skill and perseverance as a professional chef. Branch Patty was re-launched in 2017 with his wife Lisa. Together they emphasize serving with kindness and integrity as primary ingredients. They don’t believe in serving anything they wouldn’t serve their own children! Branch patties are produced by hand in small batches. We look forward to serving you the “Branch Patty Experience.”

Our Core Values

We believe in using real foods & not cutting corners. We love creating Caribbean flavors that make you feel good.

We source with integrity to get the best ingredients from farms and suppliers that are committed to the same values as we are.

We practice sustainability because we know these decisions will change the world and affect our children’s children.

We firmly believe in supporting other small businesses & our local community.

We love our customers and will feed them with the same respect we feed our own family.

We believe in paying it forward & donating as much as possible.

Our culinary ambassador, Georgette Farkas, interviews Chef Samuel Branch about his culinary career and family-owned company Branch Patty. Read more about it here.

Pastrami Queen

In 1956, when this kosher Jewish delicatessen first opened on Queens Boulevard, it was called Pastrami King, and for nearly 40 years the place fed the courthouse crowd out there in Kew Gardens. In 1998, facing a steep decline in business, the King decamped to the Upper East Side and, in honor the new owners’ family matriarch, was renamed Pastrami Queen.

In 2020, Pastrami Queen crossed the park, opening their second location on West 72nd Street in the space that Fine and Schapiro held since 1927, before that venerable institution closed for good when the pandemic hit in March. So there’s a lot of history here, as befits one of the best purveyors of this iconic NYC cuisine, and while you wait for your counterperson to pile that pastrami high on rye, take a moment to browse the NYC Jewish Deli wall of fame behind you, filled with photos of places like Ben’s Ben’s (the deli so nice he named it twice), Jay and Lloyd’s of Sheepshead Bay (shuttered only last May, another victim of COVID), and, most intriguing, the long-gone Kishke King of Brownsville, home of the Frank Built For Two: “14 bites… 10 inches long.”

All'antico Vinaio

Tommaso Mazzanti

Tommaso Mazzanti was born in 1988 in Bagno a Tipoli (Florence). He attended the hotel school until the age of 18, and then entered the family business (All’antico Vinaio). He joined the family company in 2014 and then opened 4 other stores with them between 2017 and 2021. In 2020, his first store outside of Florence opened in Milan. In 2020, he has also opened a store in the most important shopping center in Italy, I Gigli. He had two experiences in the USA with the Bastianich family both in New York and in Los Angeles, which sold out every day. He has been defined among the best and most social young restaurateurs in Italy.

Within a few years, Tommaso Mazzanti brought his restaurant All’antico Vinaio from being a reference point for the workers of the historic center of Florence to being a reference point for tourists from all over the world. The Schiacciata la Favolosa, prepared by him with Sbriciolona (typical Florentine salami), Pecorino cream made by him, Artichoke cream and fried eggplant has been defined by the main magazines as among the best sandwiches in the world.

Tommaso currently has four shops in Florence, one inside the I Gigli Shopping Center, one in the heart of Milan and another opening in the center of Rome, while also overseeing operations for his New York location and soon to come Beverly Hills location.

JoJu

Scott and Julie Wong

In 2011, an idea was hatched at a dining table in Queens. During one of their weekly dinners, Scott Wong proposed that they extend their family meals past their homes in the form of a restaurant nestled in the heart of their borough.

His wife Joanna, her sister Julie, and Julie’s husband Chris jumped on board to create JoJu (Joanna + Julie) – a cozy shop devoted to crafting the perfect banh mi. Like the iconic sandwich, the family has roots in Vietnam but are products of multiple cultures. And as residents of New York, the family’s take on the classic banh mi
was bound to have international influences.

With Scott’s formal training at French Culinary Institute and Julie’s love for the diverse food of their home borough, the two took naturally to the kitchen. JoJu’s banh mis feature flavors from all over the world whether in the form of their kakuni pork belly or their house-made aji verde.

To this day, ideas for new dishes are shared at their family dinner table where it all began. Though now, through JoJu, there is an extra seat at the table for their extended family – the hungry, food-loving people of New York.

Bombay Sandwich Company

Bombay Sandwich Company was founded at the Smorgasburg food festival in Brooklyn in 2012. We opened our first brick and mortar shop in Manhattan in 2014 and are proud to be called “Best Sandwich,” “Best Bowl,” “Best Indian,” and of course, “Best Chai.”

We’ve been featured on The Cooking Channel, Food Network, and CBS, and have even fed global tastemakers like Bono, Julianne Moore, Fred Armisen, Anne Hathaway, and Yoko Ono. And most recently, we were honored to be visited by Deepak Chopra.

While we launched vegan, we’ve since expanded our menu to offer both vegan and vegetarian dishes. Today, we are best known for innovating new recipes, introducing chef-crafted modern Indian sandwiches.

In fact, Bombay Sandwich Co. was one of the first in NYC to introduce a tikka burger! We love creating in the kitchen, and we are honored to continue to introduce new flavor profiles to our audience.

Notably, our cafe is also home to a sister restaurant, Bombay Curry Co.

Bombay Curry Co. was created with love by our Bombay Sandwich Co. owner and operator, Nisha. Inspired by recipes from home and propelled by the need for quality takeout and delivery options during the pandemic, Nisha crafted a virtual restaurant brand that would bring high-quality curries to homes across the city.

Fuku

Chef David Chang

Fuku is the fried chicken joint from chef David Chang – on a mission to change the way people think about fast casual.

Fuku, as a concept, was built off of this really delicious thigh-meat spicy fried chicken sandwich and has since grown to serve a variety of fried chicken offerings, sides, and slushies. guided by many of the same principles that David Chang instills in all his restaurants, Fuku is focused on offering guests approachable, tasty food that draws from both Asian and American influences.

What started as a secret sandwich at Momofuku Noodle Bar in NYC soon grew into FUKUSANITY when Fuku opened its own store in 2015 in the east village.

Over the ensuing years, Fuku opened storefronts at Hudson Yards and Rockefeller Center in NYC, as well as stadiums, arenas, and ghost kitchens throughout the country.

DiSO'S Italian Sandwich Society

Chef Adam DiSilvestro

DiSOS is Adam DiSilvestro, nicknamed “Diso” in high school. First generation American – Italian, born in LES Manhattan, raised in Staten Island. Growing up, Italian sandwiches were a staple in our neighborhoods and where to find the best Italian sandwich was always a topic of conversation. It meant that being the “go-to” sandwich spot was like being crowned the king of NY. A classic Italian sandwich will never die, go out of style, or fade. It will forever be a lunch staple.

DiSOS Italian Sandwich Society was not founded to become the best Italian sandwich shop. It was founded to continue the long tradition of great Italian sandwich shops among the old school establishments that have come before. DiSOS is a proud homage to that.
