Governors Island lies just 800 yards from the southern tip of Manhattan and even closer to Brooklyn. Its 172 acres comprise a historic district dotted with buildings from across its 200-plus-year history and over 120 acres of award-winning open space.
Once known only as a seasonal destination, Governors Island is now open to the public year-round. Visitors flock to experience its stunning parkland, intriguing history, fantastic food and drink offerings and diverse roster of engaging public programs—now including a unique lineup of all-season activities.

Colonels Row
Capacity Standing: up to 4,000
Governors Island features a fenced in and secluded shady, green space, The Colonels Row Festival Grounds, which can be reserved for large events. This beautiful, outdoor space holds up to 4,000 people, and although Colonels Row does not have any water views, it is centrally located on the Island.
Picnic Point
Capacity Standing: up to 2,000
Versatile venue with spectacular Statue of Liberty and harbor views. Great for corporate outings, picnics, festivals and performances.
Nolan Park
Capacity Standing: up to 1,000
Nolan Park is a four-acre manicured green, surrounded by houses and buildings that date back to 1810. Nolan Park has brick walking paths and London Plane trees throughout, so the lawn space is naturally shaded by trees. The historic homes around the perimeter create an intimate setting for programs.
Oval
Capacity Standing: up to 1,000
Inviting lawn in the center of Governors Island’s award-winning parkland that’s great for corporate outings, picnics, performances and field days.
Liberty Moment
Capacity Standing: up to 300
One of the most scenic settings Governors Island has to offer. Great for dinners, weddings and other small activations.
Liggett East
Capacity Standing: up to 500
Flat, open space that can be transformed into a world of its own for immersive food and cultural festivals, or private events like weddings and parties.
