What does it take to feed thousands of New Yorkers? Come see for yourself! On Saturday, October 17, Great Performances will once again open the doors of our South Bronx commissary as part of Open House New York Weekend, and we’d love to welcome you in.
Open House New York is a citywide celebration that gives New Yorkers the chance to step inside places they might not otherwise get to see. From October 16–18, more than 300 destinations across all five boroughs will open their doors for tours, special activities, and behind-the-scenes experiences. It’s a wonderful way to see a different side of the city and discover some of the people and places that make New York so special.
For us, that means inviting you into the place where much of the Great Performances story happens. Our South Bronx commissary is a busy place. Over three floors, our teams are cooking, prepping, planning, packing, and getting food ready to head out to events all over the city. During the tour, you’ll get a peek inside our kitchens, walk-ins, offices, and some of the behind-the-scenes spaces that our clients rarely get to see.
We love participating in Open House New York because it gives us the chance to open our doors and share a little more of what goes on behind the scenes. There is so much work, creativity, and care that goes into every event we produce, and this is your chance to see it firsthand and meet some of the people who make it all happen.
