Dorcy Rugamba transforms his memoir into a music theater tribute to his family, who were killed on the first day of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. Joined by Senegalese musician Majnun, Rugamba weaves poetry, song, and storytelling into what he describes as a “hymn to life.”

Hanif Abdurraqib returns for the third year of his poetry series celebrating the art form as a way to build community, with this year’s programming highlighting voices from across the African Diaspora.
